What Exciting Things Are Happening at Dartmouth Tuck in 2023?
INTRODUCING A GLOBAL SUMIT ON HEALTH, WEALTH, AND SUSTAINABILITY
Tuck established a target of collecting $250 million from alumni for their Tuck Difference initiative in 2018. Tuck exceeded their fundraising target by receiving 81% of alumnI contributions. Furthermore, Tuck got a $52.1 million gift from an unnamed acquaintance six months ago to fund a recurrent global summit on health, wealth, and sustainability held by Tuck. What exactly does this mean? This conference will discuss the intersection of public policy, health care, and climate change, as well as establish Tuck as a hub for funding in these fields. GRADUATES GET A 15% PAY INCREASE
Tuck stated in November 2022 that overall graduate pay had increased 15% to $202,900 with the Class of 2022. Within three months of graduation, 98% of the class got employment opportunities. While 93% got a sign-on incentive' worth a median of $30,000. One reason for this, according to Stephen Pidgeon, executive head of career services at Tuck, is that Tuck has a well-resourced and engaged career services staff. He does, however, credit Tuck graduates with bringing the right skills at the right time.
TUCK MAINTAINS ITS SMALL CLASS SIZE
Another reason for this success could be that Dartmouth's only business program is their full-time MBA. There are no undergraduates, EMBAs, or online students competing for resources. Full-time MBAs are the focus of interest. The school also deliberately keeps class sizes of 285 students to create an intimate atmosphere in which students can grow and connect. Consider it a large fraternity: the school's deans, professors, and administrators, as well as thousands of alumni, are all involved in the success of these 285 students.
INTRODUCTION OF PRACTICUM
According to Director Matthew Slaughter, the school has launched Practicum this year. Slaughter defines Practicum as "live project work with real people, real organizations, or real assets." This year the Practicum will concentrate on early stage venture capital. In order to subject MBA students to the most recent trends and best practices almost immediately, Tuck has also implemented micro classes.
NEW TUCK SPRINT COURSES FOR 2023
Tuck Sprints are five-hour classes that look at a timely, emerging, or topical issue that isn't addressed in other Tuck courses. Alternatively, they delve deeply into a narrow topic that builds on material taught at a higher level in an existing course. The Tuck sprint classes in 2023 will address U.S.-China ties, business under sanctions, horizon scanning and the newest in foresight methods, mentoring at the intersection of race, gender, and nationality, and NBA decision biases. There are several more sprint courses in the works too, according to Slaughter.
