ESSAYS ON JOB DESCRIPTION
The employment interview questions are not essays. As a result, the quantity of words is unimportant. Some candidates work for well-known corporations where three lines are adequate to explain them; others work for tiny businesses where it is more vital to provide the entire picture.
All of the employment essays are brief. INSEAD encourages candidates that they can respond in as little as one line. Alternatively, in as much as twenty lines. Consider the collection of essays as a single narrative. First, you outline your present position, followed by what you would do next in your role. Then, tell them about your background. Finally, provide a brief description of your goals and how an MBA can help you achieve them.
Make good use of the available space and respond to the questions directly. INSEAD MBA admissions does not require a lengthy explanation. There is no requirement for background information other than the answers to the questions.
ESSAY 1
Briefly summarize your current (or most recent) job, including the nature of work, major responsibilities, and where relevant, employees under your supervision, size of budget, clients/products and results achieved. (200 words max.)
This question is about your present (or most recent) employment condition. It is appropriate to provide background for your present job. However, make sure that you devote the majority of the space to detailing the specifics of your daily responsibilities. Use the space for key responsibilities and results if you have less expertise supervising employees or managing a budget.
ESSAY 2
What would be your next step in terms of position if you were to remain in the same company? (200 words max.)
If your supervisor has already discussed the next steps with you, this is a simple question to answer. What future career would you ideally seek if you have not specifically addressed advancement at work?
Perhaps you want to pursue an MBA because you want to change careers or because the next step in your present firm is unappealing for other reasons. If so, here may be the place to outline the next step. Consider why you do not want to take the next step.
ESSAY 3
Please give a full description of your career since graduating from university. Describe your career path with the rationale behind your choices. (300 words max.)
Even if your professional path is rather easy, you might use the chance to comment on some of the lessons learned from each role. To design your professional narrative, use your learnings to tell the tale of your past, present, and future ambitions. This, like the others, should be a brief response. As a result, concentrate solely on the decisions you've made in your work and the reasons for them.
ESSAY 4
Discuss your short and long-term career aspirations with or without an MBA from INSEAD. (100 words max.)
A top-tier program like INSEAD is a career accelerator. The INSEAD MBA program can connect you to a larger network than you would have otherwise. INSEAD will broaden your skill set and introduce you to individuals from all around the world.
Consider how you want to use your INSEAD MBA to enhance your present employment (or change paths entirely). How would you attain your goals if you did not attend INSEAD? Consider this short answer essay a thought experiment to demonstrate that you can design two paths to the same objective.

If you are currently not working or if you plan to leave your current employer more than 2 months before the programme starts, please explain your activities and occupations between leaving your job and the start of the programme.
If you are now unemployed, you should respond to this question. Use the space to show how you spend your time when you are not working full-time. In an ideal world, you are now engaged in an activity that will advance your career. If not, you are currently pursuing personal objectives. The best answer demonstrates that you are self-motivated and do not require paid labor to further your development.
Perhaps you volunteer for a non-profit organization that is connected to your job aspirations. Perhaps you're collaborating on a startup with a friend. Alternatively, you may be consulting and networking in your field.
Maybe you're only going to be out of work for a few months until school starts, or you're only going to be out of work for a few months. It is reasonable to pursue travel or other activities if this is the case. Concentrate on developing your global awareness and perspective. Make sure, however, that your actions are linked to your long-term objectives.
